Apprentices receive support to develop management skills
As National Apprenticeship Week ended, we spoke to Voneus apprentices Tom, Elliot, and Kieran about their Level 5 Operations Apprenticeship journey.

As National Apprenticeship Week drew to a close, we spoke to Tom, Elliot and Kieran who have started a Level 5 Operations Apprenticeship with Voneus.
The course is being delivered by BPP, the UK’s leading apprenticeship provider, over 15 months and covers personal effectiveness, modern leadership, corporate synergy, driving organisational performance, financial intelligence and dynamic operations.
The apprentices can expect to take part in live webinars and huddles, regular 1-2-1 coaching sessions and guided self-study.
Warehouse and Logistics Manager Tom White has been with the company for almost 5 years, and says he is always looking for new skills to learn.
He said: “I was over the moon when Voneus first told us that there was an apprenticeship opportunity to develop my skills as a manager. Management has always been a tricky competence to develop due to different styles and industries.
“Using the online platform is clear and easy, and tells me what is expected of me, when I need to do it, and anything I need to know to get me there. I can work at a pace that suits me, and in a way that I feel is my own interpretation of the content, so that I can tailor my management style to suit the different scenarios I'm faced with in my role.
“I can't wait to progress and to become the best version of myself yet!”
Elliot Peace is Head of Field Sales and has been with the company for 2 years.
He said: “Over the last 2 years Voneus has provided me countless opportunities to enhance my skills and provide me with the most effective tools to develop my career.
“The apprenticeship programme that was launched last year has highlighted to me how much the company cares about investing in its people's future. The head of field sales role is a busy one, but I've had the support I need to help balance the exciting course with my workload.”
Installations Manager Kieran Acornley has also been with Voneus for 2 years.
He said: “I’m excited to be part of the Level 5 Operations Apprenticeship and to develop my leadership skills alongside my colleagues. Opportunities like this do not come around too often and I was honoured when Voneus gave me this fantastic opening. I’m looking forward to growing and tailoring my leadership style.”
Also on the Level 5 course is Delivery Manager Kamila Lang. A Level 3 Team Leader programme launched in October and currently has 3 colleagues enrolled on the 16 month course: Purchase Ledger Supervisor Brid Galvin, Wireless Build Team Leader Kyle Strahan and Installation Supervisor Scott Glendinning.
