All you need to know about Full Fibre

30th May 2024

Let’s talk about full fibre… fibre to the premises, FTTP, call it what you will: what is it, why do you need it and how do you get it?

Full fibre connects you to the internet by using fibre optic cables all the way from the broadband exchange directly into your home. It uses pulses of light to move data ‘at the speed of light’ and gives you unrivalled speed and reliability.

Voneus specialises in bringing full fibre to rural communities across the UK, connecting homes and businesses in even the hardest to reach areas to better broadband.

Some broadband providers say they offer full fibre when they are in fact only offering FTTC, or Fibre to the Cabinet. This is where fibre optic cables only reach the green cabinets you see on the street. Outdated copper cables are then used to connect to your property, often leading to slow or patchy internet. This part fibre is VERY different to full fibre broadband.

Full fibre from Voneus is up to 13x faster than your standard broadband. This means no buffering, no dropout, just reliable, uninterrupted internet whenever you’re online – no matter how many of you there are, or how many devices you’re using.

What’s more, symmetrical speed means download speeds (how quickly you can access the internet) are the same as upload speeds (how quickly you can share something to the internet) for effortless streaming, gaming and video meetings.

Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme

Better broadband from Voneus also means government backed vouchers. The government is investing £5 billion in its flagship Project Gigabit programme to help hard-to-reach communities access gigabit-capable broadband.

Voneus is a registered supplier of the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, that sees a Gigabit Voucher issued by BDUK (Building Digital UK) to eligible customers.

Each voucher is worth up to £4,500 towards installation of a new gigabit capable service, and is paid to Voneus or another eligible supplier like us as soon as your fibre broadband is installed and up and running.

Signing up couldn’t be simpler – our team will do all the leg work for you to ensure a hassle-free connection to full fibre broadband. Simply register your interest and we’ll do the rest.
